Full Recipe:
Ingredients (Dough)
1⁄2 cup + 1 tbsp lukewarm water
21⁄4 tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
1⁄4 cup sugar
1⁄2 cup melted butter
1 cup lukewarm milk
41⁄2 cups bread flour (or all-purpose)
1⁄2 tsp salt
1 cup chopped or whole Sunsweet Amaz!n Prunes
2 tsp cinnamon
1⁄2 tsp nutmeg
1⁄2 tsp ginger
Cross Paste
3⁄4 cup flour
1⁄3–1⁄2 cup water
Directions
1. Activate yeast: Mix warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit 5–10 mins until foamy.
2. Make dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and spices. Add yeast mixture, milk, and butter. Mix to form dough.
3. Knead: Knead 8–10 mins until soft and slightly sticky.
4. Add prunes: Fold in Sunsweet Prunes.
5. First rise: Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours, until doubled.
6. Shape: Divide into 12 buns, roll into balls, place on lined tray.
7. Second rise: Cover and rest 30–45 mins.
8. Crosses: Mix flour + water into thick paste, pipe crosses.
9. Bake: 350°F for 20–25 mins, until golden.
